Health & Wellness Resources

Royal Metro College prioritizes student well-being. This page lists health coverage information, mental-health supports, crisis contacts, and overdose-prevention resources so you can get help quickly when needed.

Health Coverage (MSP)

International students studying in B.C. for six months or longer are generally required to enroll in the provincial Medical Services Plan (MSP). Students staying for a shorter period should arrange private health insurance.
For questions about health coverage or proof of enrollment, please contact studentservices@royalmetro.ca.

Mental Health Supports

If you are experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, or difficulty adjusting to studies or life in B.C., support is available.

  • On-campus: Contact the Administrative Office to be referred to counseling and community resources.
  • Community: You can access mental-health services through local clinics and community programs. If you are unsure where to start, email us at studentservices@royalmetro.ca and we will guide you to appropriate services.

Crisis & Emergency

Addiction & Overdose (Naloxone)

Overdose can happen to anyone. Naloxone is a medication that can temporarily reverse opioid overdose and is available for free in many community locations.
If you would like information about recognizing overdose, where to obtain a free naloxone kit, or basic training resources, please contact studentservices@royalmetro.ca. We encourage a non-judgmental, safety-first approach to student well-being.
