Program Overview: 

Welcome to the Esthetics Diploma with Co-op program at Royal Metro College, where passion meets profession, and creativity intertwines with skill. This program includes 960 hours of in-class education (theory and practice areas) which is covered in 48 weeks, and 700 hours of co-op that is covered in 35 weeks. The college prides itself on offering a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and business acumen necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving field of esthetics.

This program consists of six carefully designed courses, each tailored to give you a comprehensive understanding of esthetics. Each course is 8 weeks/ 20 hrs week/ 160 hours. Each course consists of learning theory and a practice area skill relevant to esthetics. Throughout your journey in this program, you will develop proficiency in a wide array of esthetic services, including:

  • Manicure and Pedicure: Learn the art of nail care and embellishment, from basic manicures to advanced nail artistry, ensuring your clients leave feeling pampered and polished.
  • Waxing: Master hair removal techniques to provide smooth, long-lasting results while prioritizing comfort and hygiene.
  • SPA Massage: Explore the therapeutic benefits of massage techniques to promote relaxation, rejuvenation, and overall well-being to enhance your client’s spa experience.
  • Facial Treatments: Delve into the realm of facial skincare, from cleansing and exfoliation to specialized treatments for specific skin concerns to give your clients radiant skin.
  • Make-up Artistry: Unleash your creativity as you learn the art of makeup application, from natural everyday looks to glamorous transformations, empowering your clients to express their unique beauty.

Admission Requirements

  • At least 19 years of age.
  • Language requirement:  Evidence of IELTS 5 (or equivalent); alternatively student has studied at a regular school where English is the language of instruction (min grade 10); alternatively the student can pass the school’s ESL placement assessment which could include an interview.

    • For students enrolled in the Esthetics Diploma with Co-op program, RMC can facilitate interviews at partnered shops in British Columbia. Students can find their own Co-op jobs. Once the job is verified by the college, it is considered eligible for Co-op hours.
